What is Ecogen?
Ecogen is a made in Canada solution which combines a centrifugal pump with Empire Hydrogen technology which converts distilled water into Hydrogen gas (H2) and Oxygen gas (O2). Small amounts of the H2 & O2 gas are injected pre-turbo. The H2 gas burns 10x faster than Diesel, and flashes across the piston face burning the excess diesel that normally gets emitted through the exhaust in the form of DPM. By burning more of the diesel, you create more power and torque from the same amount of diesel fuel.
At low engine loads, a diesel engine is quite inefficient. The black smoke that you see coming out of the smoke stack is actually unburned diesel (DPM). Not only is this a waste of fuel, DPM is very toxic to breath in. The H2 injection burns this DPM, maximizing efficiency of your engine, and reducing the harmful DMP emissions!
At high loads, the amount of diesel injected increases, but your air intake remains static. O2 is required for combustion, so the additional O2 injected by Ecogen results in a better combustion environment for the diesel fuel, maximizing torque and fuel economy!
